Planar loudspeakers Diptyque are the result of the meeting of two acoustics enthusiasts: Gilles Douziech and Eric Poix. Their collaboration began in 2001, with a first prototype designed for a contemporary art exhibition. Together, they conducted numerous experiments on materials, shapes, components and assembly processes, in order to create a high-fidelity loudspeaker that would be both a sound and emotional object. Each model Diptyque is a unique, handcrafted piece that combines aesthetic rigor and high-level acoustic performance.
Gilles Douziech, fascinated by loudspeakers and high fidelity since his adolescence, decided at the age of 19 to cross France for an internship with Marcel Rochet, designer of famous Mulidine speakers. This apprenticeship with the passionate acoustician allowed him to acquire fundamental knowledge on harmonic resonances and filter design. Gilles continued his studies in electronics and works in the biomedical field then technological education, mBut his love for acoustics never waned. Sa meet with Eric Poix, will be decisive for the development of loudspeakers Diptyque.
Eric Poix, for his part, has always been driven by a quest for pure musicality, beyond fashion and artifice. His expertise in mechanics and metalwork leads him to design speaker stands and high-fidelity electronics of exceptional precision. He designs and manufactures all the mechanical components of the speakers. Diptyque, ensuring the creation of a rigid and sophisticated structure, essential for the perfect control of the tension of the membrane, a key factor for the sound quality of the speakers isodynamic.
